Sash Pulleys

One of the most important parts of a sash window. High quality sash pulleys are essential for reliability and ease of opening.

A sash pulley is mortised into the pulley stile (side of the frame) near the top; the sash cord or sash chain passes over the pulley and is attached to the counterweight inside the sash box. The counterweight balances the sash.

Mighton designed the rivet-less face plates over 30 years ago and it has now become an industry standard. Mighton were also one of the first to fit ball bearings to the pulley ball race giving a consistent and smooth operation.

Pulleys are one of the products that often need replacing when Victorian or Georgian timber sash windows are refurbished. This is normally because they have either been painted over or have tarnished in the sun. Our PVD coating can prevent tarnishing and keep your pulleys looking beautiful.

Mighton’s pulley wheels are particularly suitable for use in box framed (sash) windows where quality and looks are of prime importance.

All of our face plates are rivet-less as standard and (With the exception of our nylon wheeled budget version) all of our pulley wheels incorporate high-quality ball bearings.

Our pulleys are available with square ends or round ends and we have pulley wheels for use with chain or traditional sash cord. Available in PVD brass, traditional brass lacquered, polished chrome, satin chrome, painted finishes and galvanised Steel finish.
